This is Take-A-Kid Fishing weekend in Minnesota
This is Take-A-Kid Fishing weekend in Minnesota.
The Department of Natural Resources encourages people to celebrate the end of the school year with a potential angler-to-be by fishing for free with a kid 15 or younger from Friday through Sunday.
Mike Kurre, mentoring program coordinator for the DNR, says Minnesotans 16 or older who take a kid 15 or younger fishing don't need a license this weekend either.
The DNR says getting started is easy. You don't need a boat, and the availability of loaner equipment in some state, county and city parks means you don't even need your own pole or tackle.
