A Hennepin County judge has blocked Minneapolis police from firing an officer over his refusal to take a drug test.
District Judge Marilyn Kaman issued a temporary injunction Monday that bars the city from disciplining officer Jason Andersen.
He's the 33-year-old officer who was fired, then reinstated after a domestic assault charge against him was dropped.
A blood test administered upon his return to work came back as "abnormal" according to a doctor who also noted that Andersen had not been told to fast before the test, a routine practice. The city then ordered a drug test, but Andersen refused.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports Kaman said the city's demand for the test stemmed from a doctor's vague conclusions based on a faulty lab test.
