A St. Paul patrol officer is Minnesota's 2010 Police Officer of the Year.
Officer Adam Bailey was involved last year in two deadly force situations where suspects threatened police with a gun. Bailey was shot and wounded in one of those incidents. Both suspects were killed.
Executive Director Dennis Flaherty of the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association says in both cases, Bailey "acted to protect himself and his fellow officers."
Bailey has been on the St. Paul force for five years.
