Woman pleads to embezzling from Lakeville PTO

A former officer of a Lakeville elementary school's parent-teacher organization has pleaded guilty to theft charges for alleging taking $54,000 in PTO funds.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports the money allegedly funded season tickets for college sporting events, a stay at a Minnesota resort and a trip to New York City.

Forty-five-year-old Lisa Bostic Miller pleaded guilty on Monday in Dakota County District Court in Hastings to one felony count of theft by swindle and one count of misdemeanor theft.

Judge Caroline Lennon ordered a pre-sentence investigation and a psychiatric evaluation. Sentencing is set for Aug. 18.
