Korea: The Unfinished War

Sixty years ago today, North Korean military forces crossed the 38th Parallel, igniting the Korean War. More than 36,000 Americans lost their lives in that war. However, the war is technically still not over; only a cease fire was signed in 1953.

Midday features a 2003 American RadioWorks documentary that examines how the war began, and how it helped define global politics and American life for the second half of the 20th century.
