Tip leads to child-porn charges against Minn. man

A worker who delivered a mattress to a Mankato man's home tipped off police after he saw images of suspected child pornography on the man's computer.

The tip led to six child-porn charges Monday against 48-year-old Michael John Immel.

Court and jail officials in Blue Earth County said Wednesday they weren't immediately aware whether Immel has an attorney.

The delivery man told police he saw an image of a nude boy on Immel's computer screen. The worker estimated the boy was 10 years old, and said a computer slide show revealed two other nude pictures.

The Mankato Free Press says police who obtained a search warrant say they saw the slide show as well.

The police report says Immel told investigators he looked at pictures so he wouldn't hurt a child.
