Two Minneapolis firefighters are recovering in a hospital from second and third-degree burns while battling a house fire.
The fire struck at a northeast Minneapolis home around lunchtime Saturday. As firefighters got to its third floor there was a so-called "flashover" - a burst of flames that blew out the south side of the roof.
Captain Dennis Mack and firefighter Jacob LaFerriere both suffered serious burns. Mack is a 19-year veteran and LaFerriere has been on the force for nine years.
KSTP-TV reports both men are in satisfactory condition Sunday at Hennepin COunty Medical Center's burn unit.
