Rochester death being investigated as homicide

Investigators in Rochester say they're treating the death of a man found along a gravel path in a wooded area as a homicide.

The body was discovered about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in a residential area near Highway 52.

Police Capt. Brian Winters says the man suffered from an apparent gunshot wound. He was dead at the scene when officers arrived.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was called in to assist in gathering evidence.

The Post-Bulletin says police went door-to-door in the neighborhood, talking to residents.
