Mankato family target of attacks

Someone apparently is targeting a Mankato family.

Investigators say another case of arson was reported at the family's home Friday. The family woke up to the smell of smoke just after 1 a.m. to find their three-stall garage on fire. Firefighters estimate damage at $90,000.

On Wednesday, the family discovered that someone had broken into the garage and vandalized their cars. On June 17, someone set a fire in a window well. The homeowners extinguished that fire before firefighters arrived. That fire caused less than $2,000 in damage.

Mankato Detective Commander Matt DuRose says the latest arson has brought the attacks to a new level.
