'LauraPalooza' draws dozens to Mankato

About 150 fans of pioneer author Laura Ingalls Wilder are in Mankato this week for an event called "LauraPalooza."
KARE-TV reports that it's a scholarly event dedicated to the legacy of the author whose work inspired the "Little House on the Prairie" television series.
The speakers are discussing Wilder's writings, life, even the music of her time. There's also a spelling bee and field trip to Walnut Grove, Wilder's home.
The conference is drawing people from around the country. Linda Starbuck says she drove five hours from Iowa and brought Ali Christensen, her niece, who lives in Texas.
