A group of Minnesotans is in Indonesia performing a mix of Christian hymns, and melodic Gamelan music. The Twin Cities-based group is called Sumunar, and it first tried the new renditions of their music at metro area churches.
MPR's Cathy Wurzer spoke with Bruce Kramer, choir director and a dean at the University of St. Thomas, and Joko Sutrismo, music director of the Sumunar Gamelan Ensemble. They spoke from Java.
