Air search used to find bikers lost in park

Authorities searched by air for a mother and son who got lost while mountain biking in a 2,000-acre park in Dakota County.

The pair were found safe about 12:30 a.m Tuesday.

Eagan police say the two were biking in Lebanon Hills Park last evening when it became dark and they lost their way. The mother used her cell phone to call police. When a pair of Eagan officers found them, they too couldn't find their way out. Eventually one of the officers made it out of the park and called for help.

Sgt. Linda Myhre tells KARE-TV says a helicopter crew was able to guide the mother, son and other officer to the main trail.
