Voters who want to speed through the Aug. 10 primary election have their last chance to pre-register on Tuesday.
Minnesota allows same-day voter registration but those who pre-register don't have to go through that step.
This year's primary is a month earlier than usual under a new state law meant to accommodate military and overseas voters. The highest-profile primary races include Democratic and Independence Party contests for governor nominees.
Voter registration applications are available from the Secretary of State's website and county government offices.

There's still time to pre-register for the Nov. 2 general election. That deadline doesn't arrive until mid-October.
