A marketing consultant and political strategist convicted of fraud and embezzlement has returned to the Twin Cities after spending six years in federal prison.
Pat Forciea says he will work to regain the respect of people he disappointed. He was sentenced in 2004 to eight years in prison and ordered to pay $5 million in restitution. Forciea was convicted after trying to purchase two USHL hockey teams in 2003.
He was a former executive of the NHL's Minnesota North Stars and was a key strategist in Paul Wellstone's Senate victory in 1990.
At age 52, Forciea says he has a chance to come home and be a dad again to his two school-aged children. He tells KARE-TV that he will work, one day at a time, to mend relationships that were damaged by his crimes.
