Vietnam Memorial replica on display in Crosby

The Moving Wall, a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington D.C., is on display in the northern Minnesota town of Crosby.

The Moving Wall was conceived by three Vietnam veterans who attended the dedication of the original memorial and realized that many veterans would never get to see it in person. They used their own money and donations from other veterans to build the replica.

Since 1984, the Moving Wall has been displayed in more than 2,000 communities around the United States. It will be on display in Crosby Memorial Park through Monday and is expected to draw up to 100,000 visitors. The Minnesota Department of Transportation says travelers to the area should expect traffic delays.

Crosby is about 15 miles northeast of Brainerd.
