Entenza brings $4 million of his own money to campaign

Democrat Matt Entenza has given at least $4 million of his own money to his campaign for governor.

Entenza's campaign confirms the former state representative gave $3.5 million of his own money to the campaign through July 20.

Entenza also made a $100,000 personal contribution in 2009 and reported giving another $450,000 after last week's deadline. The campaign reports spending $3.8 million through July 20.

Entenza's spending is several times that of his opponents. Margaret Anderson Kelliher, the DFL's endorsed candidate, reports raising $982,000 since the start of the year. Republican Tom Emmer reports raising $785,000 in 2010. Independence Party candidate Tom Horner brought in $190,000.

Democrat Mark Dayton, who is also relying on his personal wealth to fund the campaign, hasn't released his report yet.

The campaign finance board says it will publicly release the information on Tuesday morning.
