UND airplane damaged at takeoff; pilot not hurt

The University of North Dakota says a single-engine training airplane was damaged in an accident during takeoff Monday morning at a Wisconsin airport.

The pilot, UND aviation faculty member Alan Frazier, was not injured in the incident about 6:30 a.m. at Wild Rose Idlewild Airport, in Wild Rose, Wis.

UND spokesman Juan Miguel Pedraza said Frazier was on his way back from an air show in Osh Kosh, Wis., and was the only one aboard.

The university did not immediately release other details. Flight Operations Director Dick Schultz said the accident was being reported to the National Transportation Safety Board.
