Simultaneous art fairs throughout Minneapolis this weekend feature more than 700 artists.

Free metro transit buses connect the Loring Park Art Festival, Powderhorn Art Fair, and Uptown Art Fair.

Each event offers art, food, music, and performances. Executive Director Maude Lovelle of the Uptown Association said there will be something for everyone on Hennepin Avenue.

"We have artist this year from 42 different states and five different countries abroad," Lovelle said. "We have food here; we also have performances every hour, on the hour, ranging from salsa dancing to magicians for the kids."

The Uptown Art Fair features sculpture, painting, ceramics, jewelry, and mixed media. There's also a youth art fair, music, dancing, and food.

The art fairs are just some of the many events to choose from this weekend around the region. There's also the Minnesota Fringe Festival, the National poetry slam, Red House Barnfest, and the annual Hot Metal Pour in Franconia Sculpture Park.
