Education races and issues fill ballot for Tuesday elections

Tuesday's primary election includes some school-related races and measures on the ballot.

On this Election Day, just 14 districts across the state either have a ballot question before voters or a school board race with enough candidates to trigger a primary.

The school board races are in Minneapolis, Rochester, St. Cloud, Winona, Frazee, Red Lake, Cloquet, and Cambridge-Isanti.

The field is generally being narrowed by one or two candidates, but in Minneapolis, 10 candidates are running for two seats. Those 10 will be narrowed to four.

Tax questions will be on ballots in six small districts: Blackduck, Kelliher, Cromwell-Wright, Randolph, Roseau and Menahga. The largest is in Menahga, where the district is seeking a tax hike to pay for more than $4 million in building construction.
