A funeral service will be held Saturday in northern Minnesota for a National Guard major killed in the crash of a military cargo plane in Alaska.
Michael Freyholtz, 34, was one of four airmen who died when their plane crashed shortly after taking off on a training mission for an air show at Elmendorf Air Force Base July 28.
Freyholtz's funeral will be at Blackduck High School, where he graduated in 1994. He joined the Air Force after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
The Bemidji Pioneer says Freyholtz left active duty and joined the Alaska Air National Guard in May 2007.
