St. Paul courthouse closed after substance found

A judge says the federal courthouse in St. Paul is likely to re-open Tuesday after an office worker found an envelope with a suspicious substance.

Judge Donovan Frank tells the St. Paul Pioneer Press that tests on the substance haven't found anything hazardous. A woman in the clerk of courts office brought a pile of mail to the first-floor office on Monday afternoon after which she found an oily substance on her hands.

Most of the first floor was evacuated but the rest of the building was not cleared. Frank says no court proceedings were disrupted and that the building should be fully re-opened Tuesday.
