Mother sues Minn. clinic over daughter's death
A mother has filed a wrongful-death lawsuit against the Mankato Clinic, claiming a doctor failed to diagnose the brain hemorrhage that killed her 20-year-old daughter two years ago.
Rebecca Joecks's civil lawsuit says a doctor diagnosed her daughter as having migraine headaches. The lawsuit says the clinical neurologist failed to run tests that could have identified a hemorrhage.
Clinic attorney David Alsop tells The Free Press of Mankato the clinic denies the allegations.
Elizabeth Moen died in 2008. She had been seen at the clinic for symptoms including a prolonged headache and stiff neck.

The clinic released a statement saying it sympathizes with the family's loss but that Moen's treatment was "appropriate and met the standard of care."
