Nurses: Strike is imminent in Duluth

A federal mediation session between the Minnesota Nurses Association and St. Mary's-Duluth Clinic has ended without agreement.

The Minnesota Nurses Association says that means a strike is imminent.

According to an association statement, talks ended after three hours Wednesday. It said the hospital wouldn't offer anything more than its last contract offer that nurses rejected by a 90 percent margin. No further talks are scheduled.

The union represents more than 900 nurses at St. Mary's and 400 at St. Luke's Hospital.
