Authorities: Lake Crystal death appears isolated

Deputies discovered a man's body as they were responding to a report of a burglary at a home near the southern Minnesota town of Lake Crystal.

Blue Earth County officials say the victim was identified by a family member as 26-year-old James Mervin Nibbe, of Lake Crystal. An autopsy will be conducted.

County spokeswoman Jessica Beyer says no suspects are in custody and the Tuesday morning incident appears to be isolated. She says authorities believe there's no threat to the public at large.

But authorities are otherwise saying little about happened and aren't confirming if Nibbe's death was a homicide.

Beyer says providing additional details now could compromise the investigation. She says all leads are being followed.
