It has been a good summer for Saint Paul College.
Last month, Atlantic Monthly ranked it the No.1 community college in America, calling it "Shakespeare With Power Tools" in a special report.
Its Friends of Saint Paul College foundation started this spring and has already giving out more than $20,000 in scholarships.
And today it celebrated its 100 birthday with an outdoor lunch under tents with music, prizes and general speechifying.

"This is the only two-year community and technical college in the city of St. Paul," said Paul H. DeGeest, chairman of the school's foundation. "This is St. Paul's college, not just Saint Paul College. It's a pretty valuable citizen of this community."
