A Chicago man has been sentenced to three years in prison in a stabbing in Fargo that cost the victim a kidney.
Calvin Johnston Jr. had pleaded guilty to assault in the May 29 stabbing. The 28-year-old had been charged with attempted murder but the charge was reduced in a plea deal.
Authorities say Johnston stabbed 22-year-old Devante Johnson 14 times. No motive was determined.
Television station WDAY reported Johnston's sentencing on Friday.
