The Mankato City Council could vote next week on a resolution asking the mayor to resign following his arrest for drunken driving.
Councilman Vance Stuehrenberg is author of the resolution that's expected to come before the council Monday night.
Stuehrenberg tells KEYC-TV that Mayor John Brady should put the concerns of the citizens of Mankato ahead of his personal needs.
Brady has apologized for his drunken driving arrest last month. The mayor said he's a recovering alcoholic and had a relapse. Brady was arrested Aug. 21 in the Minneapolis suburb of Golden Valley.

The council's vote is a request only. It's the mayor's decision on whether he should step down.
