Faribault man gets 30 years on child porn charges

A Faribault man who produced child pornography on his cell phone received a sentence of 30 years in prison on Friday.

Michael Angelo Borromeo, 39, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in March. According to court documents, he coerced a 14-year-old into engaging in sexually explicit acts and recorded it on his cell phone.

U.S. District Court Judge Joan Ericksen delivered the sentence in federal court in Minneapolis. She also sentenced Borromeo to a lifetime of supervised release.

This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a U.S. Department of Justice initiative to combat the sexual exploitation of children, particularly on the Internet.
