Former scout leader sentenced to 30 years

A former volunteer for the Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valley accused of taking sexually explicit photos of girls in his troop has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Michael Angelo Borromeo, 39, of Faribault pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography in a deal with prosecutors. He had been indicted in October for production of child pornography, four counts of receiving child pornography and two counts of possession.

U.S. District Judge Joan Ericksen also sentenced him Friday to probation for the rest of his life.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that Borromeo has sentencing Oct. 7 on state charges that he raped and photographed a naked 15-year-old girl and her naked younger sister.
