Minneapolis cop hurt in squad car crash

A Minneapolis police officer is recovering after his squad car was involved in a three-car crash.

It happened about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday at a traffic light at a downtown intersection as the officer responded to a report of gunfire.

WCCO-TV reports the crash demolished the front of the squad car. Another car had front-end damage while the third car had read-end damage.

The officer's injuries are described as non-life-threatening. Police say one of the other two drivers appeared to have minor injuries.
