MN dad pleads guilty to helping son conceal crash

A Duluth man has pleaded guilty to helping his teenage son cover up a traffic crash that left a young woman with numerous broken bones.

Fifty-one-year-old Daniel Wilczek pleaded guilty Friday to a felony charge of aiding an offender. As part of a plea agreement, a second count was dismissed.

Wilczek told the court he was trying to keep his son out of trouble when he transported 18-year-old Zadie Morgan from an SUV crash - without reporting the accident or seeking medical help for the woman.

Wilczek's son was 17 at the time of the June accident. The Duluth News Tribune reports he pleaded guilty in August in juvenile court to criminal vehicular operation causing great bodily harm while under the influence of alcohol.
