Minn. House speaker takes job with high-tech group

The speaker of the Minnesota House has taken a job as president of the Minnesota High Tech Association.

State Rep. Margaret Anderson Kelliher, who ran for governor instead of a new legislative term, was announced Monday as the group's president-in-waiting. She'll assume the role in January after leaving elective office.

Kelliher won the Democratic endorsement for governor this spring but lost in an August primary to eventual nominee Mark Dayton. She had been a finalist to lead the Minneapolis parks system but withdrew from consideration last week.

The Minnesota High Tech Association is an advocacy group that counts major manufacturing companies and public colleges as members.
