A former Minneapolis police officer turned robber has pleaded guilty to more crimes.
Dakota County Attorney James Backstrom said Tuesday that 29-year-old Timothy Carson has pleaded guilty to five counts of first-degree aggravated robbery and two counts of first-degree attempted aggravated robbery.
The robberies and attempted robberies happened over three weeks in Apple Valley, Eagan and Rosemount, from mid-December through early January. A CVS pharmacy, a Marathon gas station and a man sitting in his car were among the targets.
Last week, Carson was sentenced to 10 years in prison for a string of robberies in Hennepin County. That sentence will be served concurrently with an eight-year federal prison term for an Apple Valley bank robbery last January.
Sentencing in Dakota County is set for Dec. 14.
