Proctor's deputy chief pleads not guilty to drug charge
Proctor's deputy police chief has pleaded not guilty to possessing morphine that was seized as evidence in a pharmacy burglary.
Troy Foucault is also charged with possession of a short-barreled shotgun and theft.
According to a criminal complaint, an administrative assistant was looking for a lost USB thumb drive in Foucault's desk on Sept. 8 when she found drug items. An officer searched and found three colored pills in a bank bag.
The pills were morphine and a OcyCodone-mixture tablet that were linked to evidence seized during a pharmacy burglary this summer.

Proctor Police Chief Walter Wobig tells the Duluth News Tribune that Foucault remains on administrative leave pending resolution of his case. He is free on a $20,000 bond.
Foucault, who is also city councilor, appeared in court Wednesday.
