Minnesota Vikings starting safety Husain Abdullah is recovering from a head injury.

Abdullah was hurt in the first half of Sunday's victory over the Dallas Cowboys. He made three tackles before being replaced by Jamarca Sanford. Coach Brad Childress said Monday the team isn't exactly sure on what play Abdullah was hurt.

Abdullah will have to pass the NFL-mandated post-concussion guidelines to return to play. That requires him to be symptom-free and be cleared by both a team doctor and an independent neurological consultant.
