Good Samaritan accused of being peeping Tom

A man hailed as a Good Samaritan for trying to break up a domestic assault is accused of being a peeping Tom in St. Paul.

Eric Skripka was charged Wednesday with surreptitious interference with privacy and was in jail.

Skripka was arrested after police got a call Monday about a prowler on the rear deck of an apartment building.

The caller identified Skripka as the man she saw peering into her neighbor's apartment.

Skripka lives a block from where he was arrested. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that according to the complaint, Skripka told police he was ashamed of what he was doing and needed help.

Last July, Skripka was on a bus when he intervened after seeing a man assault his girlfriend. The man beat Skripka unconscious.
