Rain floods building at Duluth college

A building at Lake Superior College is flooded and unusable after an autumn storm dumped more than 2 inches of rain on the Duluth area.

College spokesman Gary Kruchowski tells the Duluth News Tribune flooding on the lower part of Building E forced Lake Superior College to relocate some of Wednesday's classes.

The National Weather Service reports 2.3 inches of rain had fallen on Duluth by Tuesday evening. Meteorologist Dean Melde says the rain has now turned over to snow.

A cooperative spotter reports nearly 3.5 inches of rain had fallen seven miles northwest of Two Harbors as of 7 p.m. Tuesday. More than 3.6 inches of rain was reported in Askov as of late Tuesday afternoon.
