This week marks the eighth anniversary of Sen. Paul Wellstone's death. Minnesota Public Radio's Loren Omoto sat down with Wellstone on Nov. 7, 1990, the day after the Wellstone-Boschwitz race had been decided.

Compared to the approach of media savvy candidates of today, it's interesting to hear Wellstone's candidness when talking about being without his wife for the first time in 27 years and concerns about being able to afford an apartment in Washington, D.C.
