Minneapolis men sentenced for robbing same bank 3 times
Four Minneapolis men have now been sentenced for their roles in robbing the same US Bank branch three different times last year.
A federal judge on Wednesday sentenced 24-year-old Michael Deon Hughes to nine years in prison on three counts of bank robbery and one count of carrying a firearm during commission of a violent crime. He is the last of the four men sentenced.
U.S. District Judge Patrick Schiltz earlier sentenced co-defendants Nathan Lamar Stewart, Curtis Devone Williams and D'Arco Kellum. Stewart, 21, was sentenced to 17 years in prison, Williams, 24, was ordered to serve nearly six years and Kellum, 23, is to serve three years.
Then men admitted stealing $15,422 from the bank in south Minneapolis on three occasions last year: April 13, May 8 and July 28.
According to court documents, the four men carried out the "take-over style" robberies by using weapons to intimidate bank employees and customers.
