Man shot by police dies in Bloomington

Police have shot and killed a stabbing suspect at an apartment building in Bloomington.

Police spokesman Mark Stehlik says officers were called to the apartments Thursday afternoon and found a person who had been stabbed.

Police say they confronted the stabbing suspect, who was carrying two knives. Stehlik tells WCCO-TV police shot and killed the suspect in the hallway of the apartment, but would not say what led up to the suspect's death.

Stehlik tells the Star Tribune it's too early to say how many officers fired shots. He says police don't know the identity of the man because he had no identification on him.

The person who was stabbed was taken to a hospital, but that person's condition is unknown.
