Crowley is the anchor of CNN's Sunday news program State of the Union. Based in the network's Washington, D.C. bureau, she covers presidential, congressional, and gubernatorial races and major legislative developments on Capitol Hill.

Crowley was part of the Emmy and Peabody award-winning team that covered the 2006 midterm elections and the 2008 presidential election.
