Former Hamline prof sentenced for lewd photos

A judge has sentenced a former assistant professor at Hamline University to 90 days in jail for taking lewd photos of a 16-year-old girl.

Thirty-eight-year-old Sunil Ramlall pleaded guilty Monday to using a minor in a sexual performance, a felony.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports four other felonies were dismissed.

Ramlall also was ordered to pay a $300 fine and given five years probation.

According to the complaint, Ramlall promised the girl modeling opportunities and lured her to the Dakota County Western Service Center in Apple Valley, where he took revealing pictures of her.

Ramlall taught business management at Hamline from August 2008 until last January.
