Minn. Revenue Commissioner Einess resigning
Minnesota Revenue Commissioner Ward Einess is resigning to begin his own government affairs practice.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty announced Einess' departure in a statement Wednesday. His resignation is effective Dec. 3.
Pawlenty appointed Einess in 2007 as commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Revenue. The governor says his commitment to sound tax policy and his bipartisan credibility helped enact much-needed improvements to Minnesota's tax system.
Einess served earlier as commissioner of the Department of Employment and Economic Development and as a senior adviser to the governor. Before joining the Pawlenty administration, he was director of fiscal policy for the Minnesota Business Partnership.
