Two top officials out at UMD in administration reshuffle
The University of Minnesota Duluth is losing two top administrators, in an apparent shuffle under the college's new chancellor Lendley Black.
Black announced the retirements in a memo sent to UMD staff this week, saying Vice Chancellors Vince Magnuson and Greg Fox have asked to retire.
Magnuson is a 40-year veteran at UMD, having held the post of vice chancellor for academic administration since 1995. Fox has served more than 35 years, as vice chancellor for finance and operations since 1988. Meanwhile, Jack Bowman, now dean of fine arts, becomes special assistant to the vice chancellor for academic administration.
Chancellor Black, who took over at UMD last summer, also announced restructurings in his administration. National searches will begin immediately for an executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and a vice chancellor for student life.
