Extended break for students at flooded Burnsville school

Students at a Burnsville school have a couple of extra days off for Thanksgiving break.

Classes were canceled Monday at Nicollet Junior High because a broken water pipe flooded the school over the weekend. A neighbor called police Sunday after spotting water seeping from the school's front door.

School district operations director Jon Deutsch tells KARE-TV that about 60 percent of the main level flooded along with part of the lower level of the school. Electronics, carpeting and ceiling tiles were damaged by water.

School officials also canceled classes Tuesday so cleanup can continue.
