Police: St. Paul cab driver tried to rape woman

St. Paul police have arrested a taxi driver, after a woman said the driver tried to rape her in his cab early Sunday morning.

The woman says the driver locked the doors and tried to sexually assault her. The woman says she fought back and eventually got away.

The 23-year-old driver, who hasn't been charged yet, is in Ramsey County jail. St. Paul police say it's possible the man has assaulted other passengers. The Ramsey County attorney's office is reviewing the case.

MPR News generally does not name suspects unless they have been charged.
