Mpls Convention Center working to host Dome events

Meet Minneapolis -- the group that books the Minneapolis Convention Center -- says it will do whatever it can to accommodate events that can no longer take place in the collapsed Metrodome.

Officials say the Dome won't be fixed until at least March, displacing Twins Fest, hundreds of college baseball games and other events. Meet Minneapolis spokeswoman Kristen Montag said the convention center is entering a busy time of year for business. But she said it's a large space that might be able to take on more events in light of problems with the dome.

"Definitely if there's a group that has an interest in moving to the convention center our sales team will do their best to work with them to find a space that's available and make the event work if at all possible," Montag said.

So far, the Home and Landscape Expo has been moved to the Minneapolis Convention Center.
