Indianapolis police nab suspect in Brainerd QB's killing

Indianapolis police say they've arrested a suspect in the fatal shooting of community college quarterback Dominique Corder in front of his grandmother's house early on New Year's day.

The 20-year-old sophomore played at Central Lakes College in Brainerd, Minn. Police in his hometown of Indianapolis say he was talking with someone in an SUV when someone shot him in the abdomen.

Police spokesman Paul Thompson says they brought in 20-year-old Mark Price Jr. of Indianapolis for questioning Wednesday, and a witness identified him as the shooter.

The arrest came on the same as a vigil at the site of the shooting on the city's north side.

Corder led Central Lakes to a 10-2 record this season. He was a National Junior College Athletic Association All-American.
