Man dies after fire burns through St. Cloud home

Investigators are looking into the death of a St. Cloud man found as a fire burned through his home.

Police arrived about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday to find heavy smoke billowing out of the house.

Officers entered the home and saw a fire in the kitchen and a man unconscious nearby. The victim was taken outside and given CPR before being transported to St. Cloud Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The name of the victim won't be released until his family is notified.

KNSI-AM reports fire officials say it was not immediately clear whether the man was overcome by smoke or suffered a medical issue that may have contributed to the fire.
