Zumbrota officer on leave after fatal shooting
Authorities in Goodhue County are investigating after a police officer shot and killed a man in Zumbrota after being called to a domestic dispute.
Sheriff Scott McNurlin says the officer was called to the scene about 8:30 Monday night to keep the peace between an estranged couple. The woman was moving out at the time.
McNurlin says the man pulled a gun and shot the woman, and the officer then shot the man.
He was dead at the scene, and the woman was taken to a Rochester hospital with gunshot wounds.
Authorities planned to release more information on the case later Wednesday. ---
